Writer, Director
Edith Tankus is an award winning director, performer, writer and clown.
She has worked with UK companies, Told by an Idiot and has toured extensively with Kneehigh Theatre performing in Hansel and Gretel, at Warwick Arts Centre and on the Southbank. She played title role in Rapunzel at Queen Elizabeth Hall on a UK tour and on Broadway. Most recently, she played in Emma Rice’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Globe and has done the voice work for Alan Yentob’s Imagine series on Margaret Atwood for BBC Four.
As a collaborator she co-wrote with Emma Rice and performed in Wonder Nurse as part of London’s first One to One Festival at Battersea Arts Centre where she has also worked as artist in residence.
Through her residencies, Edith has led workshops in schools and theatres exploring physical theatre, Shakespeare, clown and devising.
