Performed by Dominic Goodwin and Chums, and The Swallow Singers led by Kate Howard
Join Dominic Goodwin and chums for an afternoon or evening of Christmas readings and general jollity!
Dominic will read Dulce Domum from The Wind in the Willows as well as excerpts from The Christmas Truce of 1914 (a letter by Captain Armes), and from Charles Dickens, Dylan Thomas and others.
The Swallow Singers, created especially for this event, led by Kate Howard, will sing some traditional Christmas music including Carol of the Field Mice.
We are very grateful to all involved who are generously giving their time for free to rehearse and perform these events. After expenses, profits from this event will be donated to Dumfries Samaritans, the local branch of this lifeline charity.
Every ten seconds, The Samaritans respond to a call for help. No judgement. No pressure. They are there 24/7 for anyone who needs someone, including over the whole Christmas and New Year period.
If you can spare extra, any donation you add to this performance when buying your ticket will be passed directly to Dumfries Samaritans.
