After last year's sell-out shows, award-winning actor Stephen Smith returns to The Swallow Theatre with two different Edgar Allan Poe stories.
Immerse yourself in two macabre classics: one actor, using the original texts from the 1840s, brings Edgar Allan Poe’s words to life like never before.
Arguably Poe’s darkest tale, The Black Cat documents an alcoholic’s last confession on the eve of his death. A story not for the faint-hearted.
Then, the poem that made Poe famous: The Raven. In the midnight hour, as an elderly man laments the loss of his love, an ominous visitor is heard tapping on his chamber door.
Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) was an American writer, poet, critic and editor best known for evocative short stories and poems that captured the imagination and interest of readers around the world. His imaginative storytelling and tales of mystery and horror gave birth to the modern detective story.
One Man Poe won The Derek Award for Best Overall Show of Edinburgh Fringe 2025.
Duration: approximately 55 minutes.
