They are back! The stunning four-piece band return
We are delighted that The Budapest Café Orchestra are visiting once again to perform another concert in the wonderfully intimate setting of The Swallow Theatre.
They have been here every year since 2016 (except for 2020), and every performance has sold out. They are remarkable musicians entertaining us every time with a feel-good, must-see show.
The Budapest Café Orchestra are an eclectic group who play in amazing places; a four-piece acoustically electrifying orchestra playing gypsy & folk-flavoured music from all around the world.
The BCO deliver traditional Balkan, Russian, Hungarian and Romanian gypsy and folk music in their own fresh and surprising way with jazz nuances and their own unique arrangements.
They were established by award-winning British composer, violinist and teacher Christian Garrick in 2009.
BCO are specialists of the ‘distilled concerto’: e.g. the Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Grieg Squeezebox Concertos and are admired for their artful re-workings of masterpieces by the greats of the Romantic era.
BCO has made a special bond with Scotlandia performing some 200 shows across the country since 2011, touring each year from the south of Scotland to the northern Highlands & Islands.
Duration: Approximately 110 minutes including an interval.
