Stewart Hardy is one of the most highly regarded fiddle players in the North East of England.
His love for the traditional music of Northumberland and Scotland shines through his repertoire and influences his own compositions.
He was Folkworks’ artist in residence for the national Year of the Artist millennium project.
Stewart’s teaching is diverse, and has covered many projects from international workshops to the Newcastle University folk degree course.
He spent six years as an influential member of the very popular John Wright Band. He has performed throughout the world playing traditional folk, pop, rock, country and western, jazz and swing music.
Stewart is now based in the North East and is much in demand as a session player and fiddle tutor.
