An informal gathering to celebrate thirty years of Scotland's Smallest Theatre
Join us on the afternoon of Sunday 21 June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first public performance at The Swallow Theatre.
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon in the theatre garden, meet with friends or make new ones, and reminisce (or learn) about this unique intimate venue, much loved by locals, visitors and performers.
The afternoon will include readings of poems and sketches specially written over the years for or about The Swallow Theatre, as well as music from local choir Lowland Lassies. There will be an exhibition of photos, videos and memorabilia showing the theatre’s history.
Our normal range of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks will be on sale throughout the afternoon along with a few additional snacks and treats.
The event is ticketed with a nominal charge to help us anticipate numbers.
The start times listed above (2pm and 4pm) are flexible arrival times. The afternoon’s entertainment will start at around 2.30pm and be repeated at around 4.30pm. The exhibition will be available throughout the afternoon.
You are welcome to arrive at any point onwards from the time stated on your ticket*, and stay as long as you wish.
* actually you will not be issued with a ticket, but you will receive an automated receipt for your payment.
We are very grateful to all performers who are joining us for this celebratory event for generously giving their time free of charge.
Any funds raised over the weekend, after expenses, will be put towards buying additional benches for the theatre garden.
