30th Anniversary Event

The Swallow Theatre – The First 30 Years

Celebrating the first thirty years of Scotland's Smallest Theatre

In midsummer 1996 The Swallow Theatre held its first event open to the public.

Join us for a celebratory nostalgic look back at the first thirty years of this unique and intimate venue.

In the first half, co-founder David Sumner will be in conversation with actor/director Dominic Goodwin (Christmas by the Fireside, Twice Nightly), explaining how he established the theatre with his late wife Jill back in the early 1990s, creating all the different parts of the theatre from ruined farm buildings.

After an interval, enjoy a variety of short extracts taken from shows over the years, and readings from works celebrating theatre.

We are very grateful to all performers who are joining us for this celebratory event for generously giving their time free of charge.

Any funds raised over the weekend, after expenses, will be put towards buying additional benches for the theatre garden.

Duration: approximately 105-120 minutes including an interval.

Recommended age : suitable for all
